21 Nov 2009 Two new items are on the
Biographies & Sketches page. Both are from
Haskell researchers looking for more info on the families or looking to
share a family photo.
Ron Kay has provided family data on Fancy S. "Fannie" Kay, her mother,
Mary Elizabeth and her brother, John L. He is looking for more
about Fannie
and her brother. All three are buried in Willow Cemetery but Fannie
has no
date of death listed. See "William N. Kay Family" at

photo from about 1912 showing the Charles & Nora Crane family can also be
seen on the Biographies & Sketches page. Are you a Crane researcher?
Dick Whitaker who submitted the photo, will provide a copy of the picture if you
would like it. The family lived in Haskell County in the early
20th century.

The Rule Cemetery listing is now complete. Jim Webb finished the survey
he began last March and all of the cemetery names in the survey are now uploaded
to the Haskell County TXGenWeb Page. The
search engine is updated to
include these additional names.

These two photos are of the Read daughters when they got together, in 1977,

A transcription of the Rule Cemetery located near the town of Rule in
Haskell County, is now on the Haskell TXGenWeb page thanks to
the survey done by Jim Webb. This is a partial listing containing about
3/4 of the burials there.

are from
early editions of the Haskell Free Press and were provided by Judith Atkeison
from her family's collection. She also sent a few marriage notices
and those are
added to the Early Marriage Records page with a link to each newspaper clipping.

original Muster Rolls. There's a surname index prepared by TXGenWeb
member, Billie Nichols Bennett. And you can choose to view the

from a 1916 issue of "The Haskell Free Press".

The Haskell Churches Photo page is updated with 2 articles from
"The Haskell Free Press" - one from 1894 and one from 1910. The Mulkey
Revival of 1894 is the story for that year and the 1910 article gives a
detailed history of the Methodist Church of Haskell published at the
time of the laying of the cornerstone for a new church building.
These articles are provided by Judith Atkeison from her collection.

Judith Atkeison has sent a scan of two old Haskell Free Press issues.
Both pertain to a couple of the earliest Cowboy Reunion events, one of which
was held in Haskell in 1898!! There are several items included in
this
new addition - items which were also in these old Free Press issues.

The obituary for Dr. Paul B. Crawford, former resident of Haskell, is on the
Obituaries page. Dr. Crawford grew up in Haskell and graduated High
School
here. He was a prominent petroleum engineer and professor at Texas
A. & M.
University.

Business Picture Pages have some new, interesting photos from the
early days, thanks to Judith Atkeison. See the Merchant's Cafe &

for 1913, 1915 and 1920. Henry Atkeison's M Systems Store is also
pictured
ca 1930. An 1890 report card for Annie Glasscock is now linked on
the Schools
of Haskell page. Judith says Annie was 14 years old that year.

sent photos of the 1921-1922 girls basketball players, the 1915 6th grade, the
1911
East Ward school photo (in 3 sections to get the whole picture) two parade
floats
from the BlueBirds of 1948 & 1949 and a ca 1913 photo of the Spanish American
War Veterans. Thanks to Judith for these great pictures.
